3/28/2017 – The AMRO mission met with top leaders in Romania to discuss how American companies can contribute to the prosperity of Romanian citizens and strengthen the economic ties between the two countries. Member companies also stressed the importance of predictability in laws and regulations to a healthy business environment.
The AMRO delegation met with President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu, Foreign Minister Teodor-Viorel Melescanu, and Minister for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship Alexandru Petrescu. In addition, companies met individually with Ministers responsible for policies relevant to their business. U.S. Ambassador Hans Klemm also kindly hosted the AMRO delegation at the Ambassador’s residence for a reception.
The delegation this year included thirteen American companies: Amgen, Archer Daniels Midland, Bell Helicopter, The Boeing Company, ExxonMobil, General Dynamics, Medtronic, Mega Company, MetLife, Oshkosh Defense, Pfizer, Smithfield Foods, and Timken.
